But it’s not just about shopping—each month brings something a little extra. From the calming Lavender Herb Festival in July to the vibrant Sunflower Festival in August and the magical Hogwarts-themed Harvest Festival in October, the market always has something fun in store. Whether you’re picking up local honey or just soaking in the feel-good vibes, the Jerome Farmers Market is a Saturday tradition that truly celebrates Idaho roots.

Kelley's Canyon Orchard

Tucked into the scenic Snake River Canyon near Filer, Idaho, Kelley’s Canyon Orchard is a beloved local gem that’s been family-run since 1908. Now in its fourth and fifth generation, the orchard welcomes visitors each season with sun-ripened fruits like cherries, peaches, nectarines, apples, and more—plus fresh-cut peonies in early summer.

Guests can pick their own produce or stop by the charming farm stand for ready-to-go goodies, including homemade jams, local honey, and small-batch candles. Open from mid-June to early November, Kelley’s Canyon offers an authentic taste of Southern Idaho’s farming roots and a warm, down-to-earth experience you won’t want to miss.

Why Living in Twin Falls, ID Could Be Your Best Decision

living-in-twin-falls

If you’re considering living in Twin Falls, Idaho, I have you covered with some of the things you need to know about this city. Nestled in the heart of Southern Idaho, this small city offers a lifestyle that blends the best of both worlds—small-town charm with access to outdoor adventure and a vibrant, community-focused atmosphere. As a local, I’m here to share what you really need to know before making the move to Twin Falls.

Five Things You Need to Know About Living In Twin Falls:

Twin Falls: A Hidden Gem in Southern Idaho

Living in Twin Falls means embracing a place that’s often overlooked by outsiders, but cherished by those who call it home. From its incredible waterfalls and breathtaking canyon views to its rich agricultural roots and tight-knit community, Twin Falls is one of Idaho’s best-kept secrets. Locals take pride in the city’s small-town atmosphere, where everyone seems to know each other, and visitors are treated like family. While many might pass through on their way to the Sawtooth Mountains or Snake River, those who stay are hooked by the relaxed pace and welcoming vibe.

Ready to Explore Twin Falls?

Unlock Your FREE Guide to the Best Things to Do in Twin Falls!

From exciting annual events and local restaurants to scenic hiking trails and hidden spots only locals know about, this guide is your ultimate resource for discovering the very best Twin Falls has to offer. Whether you’re an adventure seeker, foodie, or simply looking to explore the charm of this amazing city, this guide will provide you with all the insider tips and must-visit locations to make the most of your time in Twin Falls.

The Best Neighborhoods for Every Type of Resident

Whether you’re a young professional, growing family, or retiree, living in Twin Falls offers a variety of neighborhoods that cater to different lifestyles. For those seeking a suburban atmosphere, the neighborhoods in the city’s northeast and northwest—such as the popular Canyon Trails and Morning Sun areas—are ideal, offering larger lots and a quieter, more residential environment with walking trails, parks, and more. If you’re after something a bit more rural and want to enjoy that wide-open Idaho space, consider the neighborhoods outside the city limits where you can find more acreage, perfect for raising animals or just having space to breathe.

Living in Twin Falls: Embracing the Slower Pace of Life

living-in-twin-falls

If you’re used to the hustle and bustle of big cities, be prepared for a shift when living in Twin Falls. The pace here is slow—refreshingly so.  Whether it’s sipping coffee at a local coffee shop or taking a leisurely stroll around town, life here allows you to appreciate the little things. People aren’t in a rush; they take the time to say hello, chat, and genuinely connect. This slower pace doesn’t mean you’re missing out on anything—it means you can enjoy more of what matters, whether that’s family, friends, or exploring all the outdoor activities that Southern Idaho has to offer.

Getting Around Twin Falls: What You Need to Know About Transportation

living-in-twin-falls

While Twin Falls is a city, it’s far from the gridlock and traffic jams of bigger cities. Getting around is easy, with no need to deal with the frustration of long commutes or expensive public transportation. Although there are no buses, a low-cost city taxi service is available. For most people, living in Twin Falls means driving is simple—whether you’re commuting for work or heading out for some weekend fun. If you’re moving here, get used to the convenience of hopping in the car and being minutes away from everything you need. And for those who want to explore the region, Idaho’s scenic byways are a great way to spend a weekend road-tripping through some of the state’s most beautiful landscapes.

Why Locals Love Supporting Twin Falls’ Small Businesses

living-in-twin-falls

One of the best parts about living in Twin Falls is the sense of community that comes from supporting local businesses. Whether it’s meeting friends and grabbing a locally brewed beer at Koto or shopping at the local farmers’ market, there’s a real pride in keeping the economy close to home. The local food scene, particularly the farm-to-table offerings, is a point of pride for many residents. Twin Falls also has a great mix of unique shops, from local boutiques to specialty stores, where you can find everything you need—often with a personal touch that larger chains can’t provide. You can get my guide about the top businesses to check out here.

If you’re moving here, one of the first things you’ll notice is how much people care about supporting each other. From fundraisers to community events, there’s always something going on that connects you to your neighbors. It’s not just about shopping locally—it’s about living locally and investing in the success of your town.

Living in Twin Falls offers a unique experience that’s hard to match. Whether it’s the friendly, laid-back pace of life, the abundance of outdoor adventures, or the strong sense of community, this city has something special for everyone. From scenic views and small-town charm to local businesses that make you feel like family, Twin Falls provides a refreshing change from the hustle and bustle of larger cities. If you’re looking for a place to call home where you can truly enjoy life and connect with your neighbors, Twin Falls is the hidden gem you’ve been searching for.
